Workers’ Compensation-Related Amendment Filed to Insurance Bill
Apr 28, 2010
Senate Bill 2176 was amended in reference to workers’ compensation by State Representative Eric Einsnaugle today, April 28, 2010.
Representative Einsnaugle’s first amendment, 003835, provides that a law enforcement officer, correctional officer or correctional probation officer suffering from tuberculosis, heart disease or hypertension is presumed not to have incurred such disease if he or she departed from a medical treatment plan.
Subsequently adopted was 054589, which amended 003835 by providing for a sheriff to include his or her proportionate costs of workers’ compensation premiums for off-duty deputies providing certain services.
Although the Senate had passed SB 2176 unanimously on April 26, because the House amended it today, the bill must return to the Senate for consideration.
