Veteran Florida Lawmaker, Former Chief Financial Officer and Insurance Commissioner Tom Gallagher Joins Colodny Fass as Insurance and Governmental Consultant

Veteran Florida lawmaker and former Florida Chief Financial Officer and Insurance Commissioner Tom Gallagher has joined the Governmental Consulting and Insurance Regulatory Law practice area of Colodny Fass as a Consultant.
“With Tom, we’ve brought on a tremendous asset who has long dealt with governmental and insurance regulation in Florida and throughout the U.S.,” said Mike Colodny, the Firm’s managing partner. “He’s been involved in the highest and most complex levels of insurance issues and will be an invaluable resource to our clients.”
Gallagher was first elected to the Florida House of Representatives in 1974 and spent 13 years in the Florida Legislature. After serving as the appointed Secretary of the Department of Professional Regulation, he was elected State Treasurer and Insurance Commissioner where he served between 1989 and 1995, and again from 2001 to 2003. In 2003 Gallagher was elected as Florida’s first Chief Financial Officer. He also served one term between 1999 and 2001 as Florida Commissioner of Education.
