Updated Version: NAIC Reinsurance Regulatory Modernization Proposal; Task Force to Meet July 23-25

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) Reinsurance (E) Task Force (“Task Force”) has scheduled an open interim meeting for July 23-25, 2008 in New York, NY.

The Task Force previously met during 2008 in multiple regulator-to-regulator formats where development of the Reinsurance Regulatory Modernization Proposal framework continued.  Comments received from interested parties on earlier proposal drafts were consolidated into one updated document. 

Prior to the July 23-25 meeting, the Task Force has requested that interested parties review the attached, updated Proposal and provide any formal comments to Ryan Couch at (816) 783-8421 or via e-mail at rcouch@naic.org by Thursday, July 17.

A consolidated compilation of interested party comments, a resolution for those comments, as well as a legal memorandum from the NAIC staff is expected to be distributed prior to the New York interim Task Force meeting.
