U.S. Senate Subcommittee to Hold State of the Insurance Industry Hearing July 29

The Senate Committee on Banking, Housing and Urban Affairs, chaired by U.S. Senator Chris Dodd (D-CT) will hold a hearing entitled “State of the Insurance Industry: Examining the Current Regulatory and Oversight Structure” on Tuesday, July 29, 2008, starting at 10:00 a.m. in Room 538 of the Dirksen Senate Office Building in Washington, D.C.
Industry and consumer experts will testify on the current state of U.S. insurance regulation and oversight. The discussion is expected to include ways of promoting competition and efficiency in the U.S. insurance marketplace and suggestions on consumer protection enhancements.Â
