U.S. Federal Reserve Board appoints Richard ‘Dick’ Anderson as Director of Management Division and Chief Operating Officer

On April 7, 2011, the U.S. Federal Reserve Board announced the appointment of Richard “Dick” A. Anderson as director of the Management Division and as the Board’s chief operating officer, effective April 18, 2011.

Mr. Anderson will oversee the Board’s Management Division, its Division of Information Technology and the Office of Staff Director.  Additionally, he will direct the day-to-day activities of the Management Division and provide counsel and guidance to other Division directors regarding the development of short- and long-term strategic goals for the Board’s administrative functions.

Mr. Anderson succeeds H. Fay Peters, who retired after 29 years of service in the Federal Reserve System.

Mr. Anderson has had a long career in telecommunications, serving in leadership positions for Bell South from 1981 to June 2007, including president of customer markets, vice chairman over corporate staff functions, and group president of global business services.  Since 2007, he has served as executive director of the Georgia Regional Transportation Authority.  

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in marketing and an M.B.A., both from Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky.
