Texas Department of Insurance Publishes New Captive Insurance Company Certificate of Authority Application

The Texas Department of Insurance (“TDI”) posted a new Certificate of Authority Application for a Captive Insurance Company today, February 6, 2015.
A writeable copy of the document is attached for review.
According to the TDI, the new application format is meant to help improve efficiency in the application process and to communicate the requirements of the captive application more effectively.
The same information is required as the previous version of the application, but is presented in a manner that is intended to be more user-friendly.
Additionally, the more uniform application form will allow for a more rapid review by department staff, the TDI explained.
