Test: FWCJUA Operations Committee Report: February 17
Feb 22, 2010
The Florida Workers’ Compensation Joint Underwriting Association (“FWCJUA”) Operations Committee (“Committee”) met on February 17, 2010. The agenda and meeting materials are attached.
As part of the agenda, the Committee considered whether to extend or re-bid contracts for collection services and for server equipment co-location hosting services.
It was reported that the current vendor for FWCJUA collection services had offered to extend the contract for another year with no rate increase. Because the FWCJUA reported gross earned premiums of approximately $3 million during 2009, it was recommended that the FWCJUA would be better off financially by waiting until volume picks up before rebidding the contract. Thus, the Committee voted unanimously to extend the contract for another year.
It was also recommended that the contract for FWCJUA server equipment co-location services be extended at current rates for nine months, so that its expiration would coincide with the expiration of the FWCJUA’s contract for vaulting services.
It was explained that, by combining these two contracts into one with a single vendor would ensure system compatibility and provide for faster, more cost efficient and more reliable service and support.
The Committee voted unanimously to extend the contract for nine months.
