Survey: 40 Percent Would Switch Car Insurance for ‘Autonomous Discount’

Although just 22 percent of those surveyed said they would consider a “highly automated” vehicle for their next vehicle purchase, 40 percent said they would switch insurance companies if those companies offered an “autonomous discount,” according to a recent Power Pulse Survey from J.D. Power. Insurance ranked third among the reasons people gave for switching to a vehicle with more advanced driver assistance systems, behind a perceived lower risk of accidents and reduced driving stress.
