For your review, we have attached a draft “glitch bill” regarding changes to the Financial Responsibility statutes in anticipation of the sunset of the Florida Motor Vehicle No-Fault laws.  This glitch bill is an effort to bring clarity and consistency to the financial responsibility statutes, authorize the Department of Highway Safety and Motor Vehicles (“DHSMV”) to suspend a vehicle owner’s driver’s license for noncompliance of said statutes, require insurers to report the issuance, renewals, cancellations and nonrenewals of policies to the DHSMV, and require vehicle operators to possess proof of insurance or display proof of same to law enforcement officers.

Please feel free to contact this office with any input or questions regarding this matter.
