“Don’t Get Caught With Your Whistle Blown”
How to Manage Employee Whistleblower Claims Alleging Unfair Claims and/or Trade Practices

January 30th · 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

The session will include case studies of certain real-life litigation nightmares in which former employees and agents alleged unfair claims practices, fraudulent accounting practices and more. Applicable state and federal whistleblower provisions will be reviewed.  Participants will be presented with long-term approaches to help safeguard against the tremendous risks associated with whistleblower claims.

Lunch provided by Florida Farm Bureau Insurance Companies

“Looking For a Little Company Privacy? Fuhgeddaboudit!”

January 30th · 12:00 p.m. to 1:45 p.m.

This session will include discussion of emerging developments in holding company transparency, insurance regulator focus on group supervision and a continued expansion of their authority over controlling persons and non-insurance affiliates.  Legislation has been proposed by the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation to adopt NAIC enhancements in holding company regulation. With a greater focus on the NAIC’s “windows and walls” approach, as well as insurer risk assessment and internal controls, which have been fueled by ongoing developments at the national and international levels, this session is “must see” for anyone who operates in a holding company system.

Lunch provided by Boardroom Communications
