State of Maine Issues Changes to Chapter 940 Requirements for Health Insurance Rate Filings and Data Reporting

The Maine Bureau of Insurance has issued changes to Chapter 940 of the Maine Insurance Code, which relates to Requirements for Health Insurance Rate Filings and Data Reporting.
Chapter 940 establishes procedures and guidelines for filing individual and group health insurance rates and health maintenance organization rates in the State of Maine.
The Chapter is intended to inform those filing health insurance rates of the types of data required to permit the Bureau of Insurance to appropriately review submitted filings submitted and provide meaningful rate information to the public.
It also establishes procedures for annual reporting of medical loss ratios and payment of rebates in accordance with federal and Maine law.
