News Service of Florida: STATE FARM FLORIDA TURNS OVER DOCUMENTS TO OIR
February 10, 2009
State Farm Florida has turned over to state regulators documents related to its proposal to pull out of the property insurance market in the state, an Office of Insurance Regulation spokesman said Tuesday. The documents were received by regulators on Monday and will be reviewed to make sure they are what the agency asked for, said Office of Insurance Regulation spokesman Ed Domansky. He said OIR is still reviewing State Farm’s pull-out proposal, and that the agency doesn’t have a specific timeline for when it will rule on whether the company can pull up stakes. State Farm has nearly a million property policies it’s trying to shed.
