To Our Loyal Agents,
House Bill 1171 is currently on Gov. Crist’s desk pending his decision by June 26, 2009. The deregulation permited by this bill will exempt a small handful of large national insurers to adjust rates without approval of the OIR. Such actions will place St. Johns and similar Florida companies at a serious disadvantage. Whether you realize it or not, this bill, if passed, could also place you in an uncompetitive situation wherever the deregulated insurers choose to compete for business. St. Johns management implores you to immediately contact Governor Crist demanding his veto of HB 1171. Please address your correspondence to the address below and be sure to caption Re: Executive Veto on CS/CS/HB 1171.
