Special Election Results

On Tuesday, June 5, 2007, Florida held three primary elections for state legislative offices. 

Senate District 3 was vacated by Senator Nancy Argenziano, who resigned after she was appointed to the Florida Public Service Commission. 

Also, House Districts 24 and 43 were vacated because the Representatives serving those districts resigned to run for the Senate seat vacated by Senator Argenziano. 

Below are the unofficial results of the primary election.  These results represent the likely outcomes of the races, but are subject to change pending certification of each election.

 

State Senator, District 3

Consists of Baker, Dixie, Hamilton, Lafayette, Suwannee, Taylor, and parts of Citrus, Columbia, Jefferson, Leon, Levy, Madison, and Marion Counties

Republican Primary

  • Don Curtis                     

11.1%

  • Charles S. Dean            

45.3%

Democratic Primary

  • Suzan Franks                 

65.0%

  • Mark T. Ravenscraft

State Representative, District 24

Note:  There was no Democratic primary.  Therefore, Kurt Kelley will become the next District 24 State Representative, pending certification of this election.
