Gov. Sanford’s Climate Change Group to Meet Friday
Columbia, S.C. – April 26, 2007 – Gov. Mark Sanford announced today that his Climate, Energy and Commerce Advisory Committee will hold its first meeting tomorrow in Columbia.
The committee, chaired by Senator John Courson, is comprised of a diverse group of stakeholders from the energy, manufacturing, agriculture, forestry, tourism, heath care, environmental and state and local government sectors. The group is tasked with reviewing possible climate change impacts in South Carolina and formulating market-based strategies to address those changes going forward.
The governor will address the group to kick off their inaugural meeting tomorrow (Friday, April 27, 2007), being held at 10:00 a.m. in room 105 of the Gressette Building, located on the SC Statehouse grounds in downtown Columbia.
