Senators Atwater and Geller To Make Major Announcement On Property Insurance at 11:30 a.m. Today

Senator Jeff Atwater (R-North Palm Beach) and Senator Steve Geller (D-Hallandale Beach) will hold a press conference today, Thursday January 10, 2008, in the Florida Senate to make a major announcement regarding property insurance.  

Our understanding is that Senators Atwater and Geller intend to hold a Joint Committee of Judiciary and Banking and Insurance during the last committee week (January 21-28, 2008).  The Joint Committee will be chaired by Senators Atwater and Geller, and the Vice Chairs will be Senators Bill Posey and Alex Villalobos.

The expected purpose of the meeting will be to have insurance companies testify regarding why insurance rates are not going down.

The press conference will take place at 11:30 a.m. in the Florida Senate Media Room.

A representative from this Firm will attend the meeting and provide a report on the proceedings.
