Senator Brandes Flood Insurance Bill Draft

Florida Property and Casualty Association Homeowners Division Members:
We have received a draft copy of Senator Brandes flood bill. At this point the bill has not been filed; however, we expect that it will be filed in the near future. Senator Brandes has been working with staff from OIR on developing legislation that would provide insurers the opportunity to develop a private market flood insurance product. Please review this and provide your thoughts and comments.
Additionally, we postpone our bi-weekly FPCA conference calls until January 6, 2014. We will be sending out an agenda for the January 6, 2014 call prior to the call.
