Senator Alexander Releases Strike-All Amendment to SB 2860
Apr 7, 2008
Senator J.D. Alexander has released a strike-all amendment to Senate Bill 2860 prior to the bill’s scheduled hearing during the Tuesday, April 8, 2008, Senate General Government Appropriations Committee meeting.
A copy of Senator Alexander’s amendment is attached for your review.
SB 2860, relating to insurance and sponsored by Senator Jeff Atwater, has been combined with SB 1196. The bill, in its present form, revises legislative findings with respect to the Insurance Capital Build-Up Incentive Program and the appropriation of State funds for surplus notes issued by residential property insurers. SB 2860 would subject the business of insurance to the Florida Antitrust Act and prohibit an insurer from failing to promptly provide to the insured estimates of damage and a good faith explanation of the insurer’s evaluation.Â
The Senate Governmental Appropriations Committee is scheduled to meet from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. in Room 401 of the Senate Office Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida.
The Committee agenda includes SB 2156: Relating to the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund by the Banking and Insurance Committee.
