Senate Banking & Insurance Committee To Hear
Apr 9, 2007
The Senate Banking and Insurance Committee, chaired by Senator Bill Posey, is scheduled to hear two bills’ of key importance to the insurance industry at its 1:30 p.m. meeting today.
The bills, SB 1864 (relating to hurricane mitigation), and SB 1866, the “Glitch Bill,” express legislative intent to revise laws on property insurance.
Both bills were introduced originally by Senator Posey. The complete text of each is attached.
The House of Represenatives’ companion “Glitch Bill” (HB 7077) has been the point of much controversy during House floor debate, and is currently classified as “unfinished business” on the House calendar.
We will have representatives at today’s Senate Banking and Insurance Committee meeting and provide a report of the proceedings.
