Rule Development Underway on Florida’s Fire Prevention Code

Public written comments and proposals are being sought by the Florida Department of Financial Services’ Division of State Fire Marshal to develop the 2013 edition of the Florida Fire Prevention Code, with a focus on Florida-specific amendments to the 2013 editions of NFPA 1 (2012 edition) and NFPA 101 (2012 edition).
Pursuant to Section 633.0215, F.S., the Florida’s State Fire Marshal is directed to adopt a new edition of the Florida Fire Prevention Code every third year.
The deadline for submitting comments and proposals ends on July 1, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.
Dates, times and locations will be announced for related workshops to be held throughout Florida.

69A-60.002: Scope; Description of Florida Fire Prevention Code
69A-60.003: Standards of the National Fire Protection Association, NFPA 1, the Fire Code, Florida 2009 Edition, Adopted
69A-60.004: Standards of the National Fire Protection Association, NFPA 101, the Life Safety Code, Florida 2009 Edition, Adopted
69A-60.005: Publications Referenced in NFPA 1, the Florida 2006 Edition, and NFPA 101, the Florida 2006 Edition, Added to the Florida Fire Prevention Code
69A-60.006: Manufactured and Prototype Buildings
69A-60.007: Enforcement of the Florida Fire Prevention Code
