Recap: OIR Rule Hearing On Reporting Requirements And NAIC Handbook

Nov 6, 2007

On Tuesday, November 6, 2007, the Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) had scheduled a hearing on Rules 69O-137.001 and 69O-138.001, respectively titled “Annual and Quarterly Reporting Requirements” and “NAIC Financial Condition Examiners.”

Customarily, the OIR schedules these hearings but will only hold them if they are formally requested in writing, by a party in interest.

The hearing on Rules 69O-137.001 and 69O-138.001 was not formally requested so it was not held.

The hearing was noticed to take comments on the adoption of the 2007 NAIC Quarterly and Annual Statement Instructions, the NAIC’s Accounting Practices and Procedures Manual, and the adoption of the 2007 NAIC Financial Condition Examiners Handbook.

There being no hearing, the Rules are scheduled to go before the Financial Services Commission for adoption.
