Recap: OIR Hearing on Proposed Rules Relating To Insurer Conduct

Nov 7, 2007

On Wednesday, November 7, 2007, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) scheduled a public hearing on Proposed Rules 69O-143.041 and 69O-143.042 relating to Insurer Conduct.  The Proposed Rules would allow insurers to utilize modern systems for holding and transferring securities without physical delivery of security certificates.

Customarily, the OIR schedules these hearings but will only hold them if they are formally requested in writing, by a party in interest.
The hearing on Rules 69O-143.041 and 69O-143.042 was not formally requested so it was not held.

There being no hearing, the Rules are scheduled to go before the Financial Services Commission for adoption.

For your review, attached please find copies of the Proposed Rules.
