Recap: Hearing On Personal Injury Provider Certification of Eligibility Form
Nov 6, 2007
Â
On Tuesday, November 6, 2007, a member of this Firm attended a workshop at the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIRâ€) on Proposed Rule 69O-170.0155(n), titled “Personal Injury Provider Certification of Eligibility.â€Â The purpose of this Proposed Rule is to adopt the Personal Injury Protection Provider Certification of Eligibility Form as required by amendments to Section 627.736, Florida Statutes.Â
Following opening remarks by OIR General Counsel, Steve Fredrickson, a representative from the Florida Insurance Council commented, suggesting that the Rule be amended to clarify who is considered an authorized signatory, given that the Florida Statutes and Rule are silent on the matter. OIR members concurred with the comments and may adopt changes to the Proposed Rule as a result.Â
The OIR stated that the record on this Proposed Rule will remain open for ten (10) additional days, and a public hearing will also be scheduled. Written comments should be submitted to Steve Fredrickson and Michael Milnes at either steve.fredrickson@fldfs.com or michael.milnes@fldfs.com, respectively.
For your review, we have attached a copy of the workshop agenda and the Proposed Rule.
