Proposed Rule Chapter Would Provide Regulatory Guidelines for Workers’ Compensation Self-Insurers

The Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Workers’ Compensation has issued a Notice of Development of Rulemaking regarding Rule Chapter 69L-5: Rules for Self-Insurers Under the Workers’ Compensation Act. A meeting to address the proposed new Chapter is scheduled for:

The purpose of proposed Rule Chapter 69L-5 is to repeal all existing Rules in the existing Chapter and replace them with proposed new Rules that would provide regulatory guidelines for employers that self-insure for workers’ compensation.
The proposed new Rules address the self-insurance authorization scope, required filings, record maintenance and audit processes for self-insurers; the self-insurance process for both governmental entities, members and former members of the Florida Self-Insurers Guaranty Association, Inc. and regulations regarding servicing entities.
