Attached for your review is a complete analysis of draft legislation relating to property insurance issues that was generated from a recent series of workshop-style meetings with the Florida Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance (“Committee”) staff and insurance industry members.
Although not yet filed as a bill, the proposed legislation purports to balance consumer protections with regulatory and rate reform, and was drafted at the request of Senate President Jeff Atwater and Committee Chairman Garrett Richter.
The analysis, done by Colodny Fass Associate Krista Kovalcin, seeks to evaluate how the proposed bill would modify individual statutes currently existing in Florida’s Insurance Code.
