OIR WORKSHOP–

On August 14, 2007, the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) held a workshop on Rule 69O-138.005, Examination of Insurers.  Although this meeting was not requested by outside parties, an informal discussion took place during which comments were made by the OIR as to items that will likely be addressed, and to which the OIR would like public input.  The OIR is currently working on qualifications for Investment Specialists and Information Technology Specialists, the two additional groups to be included, as required by House Bill 1549.  There will be another workshop held once the OIR has drafted a proposed rule.
