The Florida Office of Insurance (“OIR”) will hold public meetings on Tuesday, February 17 and Wednesday, February 18, 2009 on Rule 69O-125.005: Use of Credit Reports and Credit Scores by Insurers.

Tuesday, February 17
Public Workshop on the Use of Credit Reports and Credit Scores by Insurers
The purpose of the public workshop is to review proposed Rule 69O-125.005, discuss specific objections to the draft Rule language and receive suggestions for changes to the draft Rule. To view the workshop notice, click here.

Wednesday, February 18
Public Hearing on the Use of Credit Reports and Credit Scores by Insurers
The purpose of the public hearing is to take public testimony regarding the use of credit scoring, credit history and credit models by insurers in the underwriting and rate-setting process in relation to Rule 69O-125.005.
The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation also is seeking testimony and information regarding the adverse impacts credit scoring has on individuals based on race, color, religion, marital status, age, gender, income, national origin, or place of residence, as well as testimony regarding proposed Rules which regulate the manner in which credit scoring models are approved.
