OIR Issues Notice of Development of Rulemaking: Unfair Discrimination in Private Passenger Motor Vehicle Rates

The Florida Financial Services Commission, Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”), has issued a Notice of Proposed Rule Development regarding Rule 69O-175.008: Unfair Discrimination in Private Passenger Motor Vehicle Insurance Rates – Based on History of Accidents. A copy of the Notice is attached for your review.

The purpose of the proposed Rule changes are to clarify that imposing additional premium payment amounts on new or existing policies based upon non-fault accidents is a violation of Florida law.

If requested in writing and not deemed unnecessary by the agency head, a Rule Development Workshop would be held at the date, time, and place below:
