No Progress on Personal Injury Protection (PIP) Fraud Bills in Florida House and Senate Today, April 25
Apr 25, 2011
With a packed agenda that included 21 bills today, April 25, 2011, the Senate Committee on Judiciary ran out of time and adjourned before it was able to take up CS/SB 1930 and CS/SB 1694, two bills relating to personal injury protection (“PIP”) by the Senate Committee on Banking and Insurance.
A committee substitute had been filed today to CS/SB 1930, which originally was sponsored by Senator Ellyn Bogdanoff. To view the committee substitute, click here.
The Senate Committee on Rules was scheduled to hear CS/SB 1930 tomorrow; however, since it was not considered by the Committee on Judiciary today, it will not proceed as calendared.
Meanwhile, in the House of Representatives, PIP legislation also did not advance when a proposed committee substitute that combined PIP fraud-related language from CS/HB 1411 and CS/CS/HB 967, was voted down by the House Health and Human Services Committee. To view the PCS, click here.
A summary of the House meeting is forthcoming.
