New York Senator Neil D. Breslin advised National Conference of Insurance Legislators (“NCOIL”) members today, April 4, 2014, that he has assumed the presidency of NCOIL in the wake of Alabama State Representative Greg Wren’s resignation this week. Representative Wren is facing criminal ethics charges.
Senator Breslin, a member of NCOIL’s Executive Committee, was the former Chairman of NCOIL’s State/Federal Relations Committeee.
In his statement to NCOIL members today, he indicated his readiness to work on initiatives such as domestic and international insurance, market conduct and unclaimed property.
A Democrat, Senator Breslin is currently serving his ninth term representing New York’s 44th District, which consists of parts of Albany County and parts of Rensselaer County.
