NCOIL Launches State Insurance Authority Study
Apr 19, 2007
The National Conference of Insurance Legislators (NCOIL), in conjunction with the Insurance Legislators Foundation (ILF), has launched a groundbreaking Study on State Insurance Authority.
The ILF is the educational and research arm of the NCOIL.
The study will take an in-depth, objective look at state insurance regulation in its current form in order to determine where it works well and where improvement may be necessary to better promote healthy, competitive insurance markets.
Also included in the study, among other things, will be an analysis of the role that legislators, regulators, state attorneys general, the courts, the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC), and other governmental entities play in regulating insurance.
