NCOIL Annual Meeting Report Now Available

The National Conference of Insurance Legislators (“NCOIL”) has advised that a report of the recent NCOIL Annual Meeting in Las Vegas, Nevada, is now available at www.ncoil.org.  The report overviews items addressed during the conference including, among others:

·         an ILF Study on State Authority, specifically Phase II recommendations to enhance state oversight and the formation of a special subcommittee to consider their implementation

·         life settlements and stranger-originated life insurance (STOLI)

·         property-casualty insurance guaranty funds

·         federal grants to states for health innovation

·         professional employer organizations (PEOs) and workers’ compensation

·         rental vehicle damage waivers

·         dependent health insurance benefits

·         a surplus lines interstate compact

·         state catastrophe funds and federal disaster assistance

·         transparency in prescription drug care
