NAPSLO names Brad Kelley executive director
By Chad Hemenway
The National Association of Professional Surplus Lines Offices has hired a former executive with the National Association of Insurance Commissioners as its new executive director.
Brady R. Kelley, most recently the chief financial and business strategy officer for NAIC, will join NAPSLO on Sept. 12, according to a statement.
Kelley replaces Richard M. Bouhan, who is retiring after 30 years with the organization. He started as legislative director in 1981 and became executive director in 1988.
NAPSLO says Bouhan will stay with the trade association for the surplus lines insurance industry through June 2012 in order to work on the transition and legislative and legal issues for NAPSLO.
Kelly joined the NAIC in 1998 and also held the positions of chief financial officer, director of financial services and financial services manager.
Therese M. Vaughn, chief executive of NAIC, says the association is sad to see Kelley go, but “we applaud the wisdom of NAPSLO’s choice and wish Brady the very best of luck.”
