NAIC To Hold D.C. Public Hearing on Credit-Based Insurance Scores–April 30

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) Property and Casualty Committee, together with the NAIC Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs Committee, will hold a public hearing on credit-based insurance scores in Washington, D.C. on April 30, 2009.
The hearing will focus on the following three issues:
(1) definition of what constitutes a credit-based insurance score;
(2) evaluation of how insurers use credit-based insurance scores; and
(3) discussion on how current economic conditions have affected policyholder premiums related to credit-based insurance scores.
Additional details on the hotel location, the start and end times for the hearing, as well contact information for those wishing to provide testimony will be distributed by the NAIC during early April.
A Colodny Fass representative will attend the hearing and provide a report on the proceedings.
