The Florida Department of Financial Services, Office of Insurance Regulation has scheduled a Rule Development Workshop for September 4 at 9:30 a.m. in Room 142 of the Larson Building, 200 East Gaines Street, Tallahassee, Florida.
The following proposed Rules are scheduled to be discussed:
- 69O-137.001: Annual and Quarterly Reporting Requirements
This Rule is being amended to adopt the 2008 NAIC manuals for annual and quarterly statements and the 2008 NAIC accounting practices and procedures manual. To view a copy of the Notice, click here.
- 60O-138.001: NAIC Financial Condition Examiners Handbook Adopted
Florida Law requires the OIR to examine an insurer’s financial condition using generally accepted accounting procedures. The law also allows the OIR to adopt the NAIC Financial Condition Examiners Handbook to facilitate these exams.
By adopting the newest version of the handbook, this Rule improves the OIR’s position by ensuring that the procedures used to examine insurers are the current generally accepted accounting practices. To view a copy of the Notice, click here.
