NAIC Public Hearing on Credit-Based Insurance Scores Scheduled for April 30; Written Testimony Due April 27

The National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ Property and Casualty Insurance (C) Committee and the Market Regulation and Consumer Affairs (D) Committee will hold a public hearing on Credit-Based Insurance Scores on April 30, 2009, from 8:45 to 5 p.m.
The hearing will focus on the following three issues:
- An explanation of what constitutes a credit-based insurance score;
- An explanation of how insurers use credit-based insurance scores; and
- A discussion on how current economic conditions have affected policyholder premiums related to credit-based insurance scores.
The hearing will be at the Hyatt Regency Crystal City, 2799 Jefferson Davis Hwy, Arlington, VA 22202.

If you plan to attend and want to testify, you must submit an electronic copy of your testimony in Microsoft Word format by April 27, 2009.
Testimony submitted by the end of the business day Monday April 27 will be included in materials distributed at the hearing and posted on the NAIC Web site. Testimony submitted after the deadline will not be distributed at the hearing. In addition, all parties will be provided an opportunity to supplement the record after the hearing with additional written testimony. A deadline for these submissions will be provided on the day of the hearing.
