NAIC-NCOIL Closed Door Meeting Debate Continues

Aug 17, 2007

In an ongoing debate between the National Conference of Insurance Legislators (“NCOIL”) and the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) over certain restrictions on closed-door meetings, NCOIL Vice President and Rhode Island State Representative Brian Kennedy recently sent a letter to NAIC President, Alabama Insurance Commissioner Walter Bell.

In response to Representative Kennedy’s letter and a proposed NAIC-NCOIL dialogue during an upcoming NAIC meeting, the NAIC issued a press release recapping Representative Kennedy’s statements and recommendations.
