The National Association of Insurance Commissioners (“NAIC”) Workers’ Compensation Task Force, Professional Employer Organization Model Law Working Group and the NAIC/International Association of Industrial Accident Boards & Commissions Joint Working Group have advised that the “Implementation Commentary,” a companion document to the “Guidelines For Regulations And Legislation On Workers’ Compensation Coverage For Professional Employer Organization Arrangements (Model #1950)” will remain open for regulator and interested party comment until February 24, 2010.
The most recent draft of “Implementation Commentary,” is attached, or can be viewed by clicking here
After adopting this model, the NAIC concluded that the “Implementation Commentary” companion paper was needed to assist states, professional employer organizations and the insurance industry in implementing a regulatory framework consistent with the PEO Guidelines.
Comments on the draft “Implementation Commentary” should be sent to Bob Wake at the NAIC(robert.a.wake@maine.gov), with copy to Bob Card(bcard@naic.org) by the Feb. 24 deadline.
