Hollywood Senior Services Center Begins Next 30 Years With New Administration, Board
Beth Allen has been appointed as Executive Director of the Joseph Meyerhoff Senior Center.
Allen, who previously served as Assistant Executive Director of the David Posnack Jewish Community Center, will assume her new position with the Meyerhoff Center on September 22, 2008 in conjunction its 30th anniversary.
Her responsibilities include oversight of the Meyerhoff Center’s overall management, operations, personnel and elder services programs.
“Beth has the right experience and dedication to lead the Meyerhoff Center into its next 30 years,” said Mike Colodny, Chairman of the Center’s new Board of Directors.
Allen will focus on expanding the Meyerhoff Center’s scope and capacity, as well forging new business partnerships in order to better provide for the community and reflect its diversity.
“The community served by the Meyerhoff Center has evolved rapidly during recent years,” remarked Allen. “I look forward to creating new and different ways to meet its needs.”
In her previous roles at the Posnack Center, Allen’s leadership resulted in programming budget and membership increases, among other accomplishments that included collaboration with numerous community organizations such as Broward County Schools.
The Meyerhoff Center, which was formerly known as the Southeast Focal Point Senior Center, became a stand-alone non-profit organization in 2008.
