Massachusetts Welcomes New Insurance Commissioner Daniel R. Judson

Daniel R. Judson has been named as Massachusetts Commissioner of Insurance, it was announced by Massachusetts Governor Charlie Baker yesterday, April 27, 2015.
An attorney with over 25 years of insurance experience in both the public and private sectors, Commissioner Judson spent 15 years as an insurance regulator at the Massachusetts Division of Insurance.
He formerly served as compliance manager of a Massachusetts insurance company, as well as president of Massachusetts’ high-risk auto insurance pool.
He succeeds Joseph Murphy, who stepped down from the position in December 2014.
“As the Commissioner of Insurance, Daniel Judson brings a wealth of insurance experience from the public and private sector, and is a great addition to the team . . . ” said Consumer Affairs and Business Regulations Secretary Jay Ash, whose office houses the Massachusetts Division of Insurance.
Mr. Judson is a resident of Beverly, Massachusetts.
