Regulatory compliance and recently-passed legislation affecting the Louisiana insurance industry was the focus of the Sixth Annual Louisiana Filing and Compliance Seminar held in conjunction with the Louisiana Insurers’ Conference on July 23 and 24, 2009 in New Orleans.
Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon officially opened the event, which featured sessions facilitated by the Louisiana Department of Insurance.
Breakout forums included discussions on:
- Property and casualty rate and form filing
- The catastrophic adjuster registration process
- Use of the Industry Access System for surplus lines broker tax filings
- Health, life and annuity form filing
- Issues related to producer and adjuster laws
- The complaint response process
