Louisiana Department of Insurance Issues Directive 204 On Mandatory Quarterly Reporting

Dec 31, 2009

Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Jim Donelon issued Directive 204 on December 30, 2009, which implements the Louisiana Department of Insurance Periodic Online Insurance Data Reporting System (“POIDRS”) for mandatory quarterly reporting by admitted Louisiana property and casualty insurers and all authorized surplus lines insurers and brokers.

Directive 204 requires online retroactive quarterly reports for the 24 calendar quarters beginning with the First Quarter of 2004 through the Fourth Quarter of 2009, and then continuous ONLINE quarterly reporting thereafter.

POIDRS is designed to assist Louisiana’s Insurance Commissioner in monitoring the degree of residential property and private passenger insurance market competition within the State of Louisiana, as well as related market conduct.
