The 2008 Florida Legislature convenes the 2008 Regular Legislative Session on March 4, 2008.

No Committee meetings are scheduled for the week of February 25-29.

Florida Cabinet and Insurance Regulatory-Related Meetings

 

Monday, February 25

• The Florida Division of Emergency Management will conduct a Hurricane Loss Mitigation Advisory Council meeting starting at 9:30 a.m. on February 25 at the State Logistics Response Center, 2702 Directors Row, Orlando, FL. The call-in number for this meeting is (850) 410-3600.

 

Tuesday, February 26

• The Florida Cabinet will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 from 9-10:00 a.m. in the Cabinet Meeting Room, Lower Level, The Capitol, Tallahassee, FL. To view the agenda, click here.

 

• The Citizens Task Force on Claims Handling Resolution will hold a meeting on Tuesday, February 26 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in Room 401 of the Senate Office Building, Tallahassee. • The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation has issued a Notice of Proposed Rule for Rule Number: Rule Title 69O-167.004: Required Preinsurance Inspection of Private Passenger Motor Vehicles
  The purpose of the proposed Rule is to adopt amendments to the rule to reflect legislative changes and update forms.  A hearing has been scheduled for February 26, 2008 at 9:30 a.m. at 142 Larson Building, 200 East Gaines Street, Tallahassee, Florida.  To read the full text of the proposed Rule, click here.

 

• The Florida Department of Community Affairs, Division of Housing and Community Development has issued a Notice of Proposed Rule Hearing regarding Rule Number: Rule Title 9B-3.0475: Mitigation Retrofits Required.  The purpose of the meeting is to modify, enhance and clarify cost-effective means to incorporate mitigation-related elements in existing buildings that are subject to permitted work.  The meeting takes place at 2555 Shumard Oak Boulevard, Tallahassee, Florida 32399 on February 26 at 10:00 a.m.

 

Thursday, February 28

• Citizens Property Insurance Corporation will hold a meeting of its Actuarial and Underwriting Committee on Thursday, February 28, 2008 from 9-11:00 a.m. via teleconference. To participate in the meeting, call 1 (866) 631-2413.  Items of discussion will include 2009 product filings, carport and other structure changes for mobile homes and additional occupancy types for the commercial residential wind-only program. • The Florida Office of Economic and Demographic Research Criminal Justice Estimating Conference will review two insurance-related bills (HB 0267/SB 0752) on Tuesday, February 26.  The meeting begins at 11 a.m. in Room 117 of the Knott Building, Tallahassee, FL.

• On Thursday, February 28, The Florida Office of Economic and Demographic Research will hold its Self-Insurance Estimating Conference from 1:30-2:30 p.m. in Room 117 of the Knott Building, Tallahassee, FL.  The State Employees’ Health Insurance Trust Fund will be discussed.
