Late-Filed Amendment to HB 267–Relating to False & Fraudulent Insurance Claims

Representative Paige Kreegal has late-filed an amendment to House Bill 267 that redefines the term “clinic” for purposes of the Health Care Clinic Act to exclude from coverage under the act those entities deriving a certain percentage of gross annual revenue from oncology services or radiation therapy; providing an effective date.

HB 267 Relating to False and Fraudulent Insurance Claims by the Safety and Security Council and Representative Alan Hays, with co-sponsors Paige Kreegal and Trudi Williams provides penalties for specified insurance fraud violations involving personal injury protection insurance; provides for professional license suspensions for certain health care practitioners convicted of such violations; conforms offense severity ranking chart of Criminal Punishment Code.
