Statement by Florida Insurance Commissioner Kevin McCarty on House Version of Property Insurance Bill

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – “I am pleased that some significant consumer safeguards have been maintained in the House version of Sen. Atwater’s original consumer-focused legislation, SB 2860. Specifically, stopping insurance companies from bypassing the Office and increasing rates through the use-and-file or arbitration processes are very important provisions of this bill. We appreciate all the work that Sen. Atwater put into the bill.”
