Insurer Anti-Fraud Plans Must Be Filed With The Louisiana Department of Insurance No Later Than April 1, 2011
Mar 18, 2011
The Louisiana Department of Insurance (“LDI”) has issued a reminder that legislation requiring the filing of Anti-Fraud Plans in Louisiana became effective on January 1, 2011.
Every authorized insurer, except an insurer writing only reinsurance, and licensed HMO must file its Anti-Fraud Plan with LDI electronically on the LDI website thru the Anti-Fraud Plans Module of the Industry Access System no later than April 1, 2011.
These Anti-Fraud Plan Filing Requirements were set forth by the LDI in Advisory Letter No. 2010-02, which can be viewed at the following Web page: http://www.ldi.state.la.us/docs/CommissionersOffice/legal/Advisory%20Letters/AL2010-02_Cur_Anti-FraudPlanFiling.pdf.
To utilize the LDI’s Industry Access System, a User ID must be created and access requested to the Anti-Fraud Plans Module for each company for which the user will be making a filing. A single User ID may be used to make filings for multiple companies. It is the responsibility of the Industry Access Account Administrator at each company to grant access to the user. The Louisiana Department of Insurance does not grant access to the Anti-Fraud Plans Module. When requesting access for the Anti-Fraud Plans Module, the name and contact information of the Industry Access Account Administrator for that company are displayed. If there is a delay in obtaining permission for a module, the user must contact this individual.
Detailed instructions on the creation of a User ID and submission of a request for module permission are included in the LDI’s “Instructions and Help” hyperlink on the Industry Access log-in page at https://ldiia.ldi.state.la.us/IndustryAccess/login.aspx.
Once access to the module is granted, the user must disable all pop-up blockers for the site in order to access the module under the “Modules” option when logged into Industry Access.
