Insurance-Related Meetings: Week of March 24-28

Legislative Meetings

The Florida House Insurance Committee will hold a hearing on Monday, March 24, 2008 from 1-6 p.m. in Morris Hall, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida. A representative from the Florida Office of Insurance Regulation is scheduled to testify regarding the state of the Florida insurance market.

The Florida Senate Banking and Insurance Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 from 9-11 a.m. in Room 412 of the Knott Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida. No agenda is available at this time.

Florida Cabinet and Insurance Regulatory-Related Meetings

Tuesday, March 25

• The Florida Cabinet will hold a meeting on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 starting at 9 a.m. in the Cabinet Meeting Room, Lower Level, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida. The following entities with insurance-related items are on the agenda, a complete copy of which can be viewed by clicking here.

• The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”) will present the following Rules:
• 69O-204.101: Disclosure to Viator of Disbursement
• 69O-143.041: Definitions, Custody Agreement; Requirements
• 69O-143.042: Custody Agreement; Requirements
• 69O-149.003: Rate Filing Procedures

The OIR also will present its 2008 legislative priorities

• The State Board of Administration will discuss:
• Executive Director’s report
• Meteorologist appointment to the FHCF
• Local Government Investment Pool Update
• Audit Council Advisory Update

• The Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund (“FHCF”) will hold a two-day Rule hearing on Tuesday, March 25 and Wednesday, March 26, 2008 in Room 116 in the Hermitage Conference Room, 1801 Hermitage Blvd., Tallahassee, Florida. Tuesday’s meeting will be held from 2-5 p.m.

Wednesday’s meeting will be held from 9 a.m. through 4 p.m.

• Citizens Property Insurance Corporation will hold a Board of Governors meeting on Tuesday, March 25, 2008, starting at 8 a.m. via teleconference. The call-in number is (888) 295.6211. Items to be discussed include pre-event liquidity financing.
