OIR Rule Hearing

The Florida Department of Financial Services, Office of Insurance Regulation (“OIR”), has issued a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking Development regarding the following Rule:

  • 69O-170.0155Determining Reserve Liabilities for Pre-need Life Insurance

This proposed Rule amendments would adopt revised versions of OIR forms OIR-B1-1655, “Notice of Premium Discounts for Hurricane Loss Mitigation,” and OIR-B1-1802, “Uniform Mitigation Verification Inspection Form.”

The forms are being revised based on changes to the My Safe Florida Home program and the experience of the OIR, insurers and policyholders with the forms since their most recent revisions in July 2007.

NCCI Amended Workers’ Compensate Rate Filing Hearing

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation will hold a public hearing regarding the amended workers’ compensation rate filing requested by the National Council on Compensation Insurance (“NCCI”) on Tuesday, December 16, starting at 9:00 a.m. in the Cabinet Meeting Room, Lower Level, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida.

Developmental Disabilities Compact Workgroup Meeting

The Florida Developmental Disabilities Compact Workgroup will hold a meeting on Wednesday, December 17, from 9:00 a.m. through 2:00 p.m. in Room 412 of the Knott Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida.

Workers’ Compensation Rule Hearing

The Florida Department of Financial Services, Division of Workers’ Compensation, has issued a Notice of Proposed Rule regarding the following Rules:

The purpose of the Proposed Rules is to revise workers’ compensation forms to comply with Florida law precluding an agency from collecting an individual’s social security number unless such collection conforms to specified provisions of that statute.  The proposed Rules also would delete forms made obsolete by elimination of the social security number collection requirement.
