Legislative Meetings

The Senate Banking and Insurance Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 9:00 a.m.-10:30 a.m. in Room 412 of the Knott Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida.

Insurance-related bills to be discussed include:

  • SB 2086: Relating to the Department of Business and Professional Regulation by Senator Dennis Jones
  • SB 2338: Relating to Motor Vehicle and Casualty Insurance Contracts by Senator Dave Aronberg

The Senate General Government Appropriations Committee will hold a meeting on Tuesday, April 8, 2008 from 1:00 p.m.-3:00 p.m. in Room 401 of the Senate Office Building, The Capitol, Tallahassee, Florida.

Insurance-Related bills to be discussed include:

  • SB 2156: Relating to the Florida Hurricane Catastrophe Fund by the Banking and Insurance Committee
  • SB 2860: Relating to Insurance by Senator Jeff Atwater

Insurance Regulatory-Related Meetings

Wednesday, April 9

The Florida Workers’ Compensation Joint Underwriting Association will hold an Audit Committee meeting on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 starting at 10:00 a.m. The call-in number is 888.209.3799. There is no agenda available at this time.

The U.S. House Financial Services Committee will hold a hearing entitled “Using FHA for Housing Stabilization and Homeownership Retention” on Wednesday, April 9, 2008 and Thursday, April 10, 2008 starting at 10:00 a.m. at 2128 Rayburn House Office Building, Washington, D.C.

Thursday, April 10
