Insurance-Related Bills Presented to Governor Crist on May 17

The following bills relating to insurance and other bills that may be of interest to you were presented to Governor Charlie Crist on May 17, 2007.

The Governor has until June 1, 2007 to sign or veto these bills. If the Governor does not act by that date, then the bills will become law automatically.

 

House Bill 111 by Rep. Bill Galvano (R-Bradenton) relating to Title Insurance Agents. The bill is effective October 1, 2007.

 

House Bill 405 by Rep. Dave Mealor (R-Lake Mary) relating to Vacation and Timeshare Plans. The bill is effective July 1, 2007.

 

House Bill 411 by Rep. Steve Precourt (R-Winter Garden) relating to Limited Insurance Licenses. The bill is effective January 1, 2008.

 

House Bill 517 by Rep. Greg Evers (R-Milton) relating to Financial Responsibility for Motor Vehicles. The bill is effective July 1, 2007.

 

House Bill 615 by Rep. Peter Nehr (R-Tarpon Springs) relating to Motor Vehicle Registration. The bill is effective October 1, 2007.

 

Senate Bill 1848 by the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee relating to the Open Government Sunset Review/Department of Financial Services Information/Unclaimed Property. The bill is effective October 1, 2007.

 

Senate Bill 1852 by the Senate Banking and Insurance Committee relating to the Open Government Sunset Review/Consumer Complaints/Inquires. The bill is effective October 1, 2007.

 

House Bill 7031 by the House Safety and Security Council relating to Community Associations. The bill is effective upon becoming law.
